Abstract:
In order to improve the temperature field calculation accuracy of asphalt pavement in the process of hot in-place recycling heating, the law of temperature influence on the thermal conductivity of asphalt mixture, the thermal conductivity prediction model of asphalt mixture, and the heat transfer model of asphalt pavement were studied by combining theoretical analysis and experiment. A thermal conductivity test device for asphalt mixture with the single shield plate method was developed based on the one-dimensional steady-state heat transfer principle. The thermal conductivity of aggregate, asphalt mortar, and asphalt mixture was tested at different temperatures, the law of asphalt morphology changed with temperature, and the mechanism of temperature influence on the thermal conductivity of the asphalt mixture was analyzed. The accuracy of different prediction models in predicting the thermal conductivity of the asphalt mixture were compared and analyzed. The heat transfer model of asphalt pavement was optimized by introducing the function of thermal conductivity of asphalt mixture with temperature. The calculation accuracy of the asphalt pavement heat transfer models before and after optimization were evaluated by comparing them with the simulation heating test. The results show that the asphalt gradually transforms from solid to liquid with the temperature increasing, and the softening point of SBS asphalt is about 50 ℃. As a result, the thermal conductivity of the asphalt mixture increases with the temperature rising below 50 ℃and decreases with the temperature rising above 50 ℃. Among the Williamson model, parallel model, series model, and Chen Ze-shao model, the thermal conductivity of the asphalt mixture predicted by the Williamson model has best agrees with the experimental results. The heat transfer model of asphalt pavement considering the thermal conductivity of asphalt mixture changes with temperature is more accurate, and the predicted heating power curve of asphalt pavement has a good coincidence with the test results, which lays a foundation for the control of heating power in the process of asphalt pavement hot in-place recycling heating.4 tabs, 17 figs, 26 refs.
