Abstract:
To solve some problems of operating speed prediction method, such as large error, low accuracy and less applicability, the concept of curvature changing rate of curve is put forward, the law between curvature changing rate of single circular curve and operating speed is studied by investigating a large number of curvature changing rate of curve and the massive measured data of operating speed on two-lane secondary highways, the operation ru1es of vehicles of horizontal curve section value are obtained under the different curvature changing rate of curve. The prediction models between curvature changing rate and stable operating speed to two-lane secondary highways are set up by using SPSS ware for regression analysis. The verified results show that the model meets the requirements of accuracy and precision, the model prediction and the actual observed values fit well, in addition, the model is easy to manipulate and efficient in working. Obviously, a number of defects of the current prediction can be avoided by curvature changing rate method in operating speed prediction. 1 tab, 7 figs, 10 refs.
