Abstract:
Rutting is worse in long and steep slope sections because of special longitudinal slope, which has a strong effect on traffic safety. Combined with the field survey about the rut disease of two long and steep longitudinal slope sections of asphalt pavement, the distributions of the longitudinal, transverse and depth rut are analyzed, and the influence factors, such as slope ratio, slope length and slow traffic, are also researched. It is indicated that the longitudinal and depth distributions of rutting for asphalt pavement in long and steep longitudinal slope sections are similar to the ordinal asphalt pavement. For the same slope ratio, the rutting depth increases from the slope bottom to top gradually. When the slope ratio and length are bigger, the vehicle speed is slower, and the rutting depth of asphalt pavement is bigger. The slow traffic is equal to the increase of loading time, and it is the main cause for rut rapid development on asphalt pavement in long and steep longitudinal slope sections. 3 tabs, 7 figs, 8 refs.
