Abstract:
To clarify the influence of rutting on the drainage function of porous asphalt pavement, the effects of the void changes of the upper layer of porous asphalt on the drainage performance were carried out. A typical layered structure of porous asphalt pavement in China was used for analysis. Firstly, the evaluation index of the void contents changing rate was put forward according to the rutting deformation space. The relationship between the rutting deformation and voids of the porous asphalt pavement was observed. The influence of the different asphalt layers on the overall rutting was analyzed by testing the actual pavement and performing a finite element simulation. Finally, the condition of the rutting position producing runoff was analyzed using the runoff model of the road surface. The results show that the proportion of void attenuation is similar to the proportion of rutting deformation to the original pavement thickness. Rutting deformation space comes from void compression as well as stone and mortar flow. The rutting deformation of porous asphalt pavement is mainly caused by the codeformation of the upper and middle layers. After the early compaction stage of the upper layer of the porous asphalt, the rutting deformation stabilizes and the total deformation are small. The vertical and transverse permeability coefficients of the porous asphalt pavement have an obvious linear relationship with the void contents, and when the void content is less than 15%, the permeability coefficient is close to 0. With the increase of rutting depth, the ultimate rainfall intensity that the rutting position of the porous asphalt pavement can withstand gradually decreases. Increasing the number of lanes also reduces the extreme rainstorm bearing capacity of the right wheel track of the outermost lane. 〖JP2〗Through this study, the influence of the rutting law on the drainage performance of porous asphalt can be clarified, and providing a technical basis for the establishment of the maintenance standards of rutting for this type of pavement.
