Abstract:
In order to reveal the influencing factors of the self-healing performance of microencapsulated asphalt mixture and provide basis for the design and performance improvement of microencapsulated asphalt mixture, the microcapsules with melamine-urea-formaldehyde(MUF)resin as wall and low quality vegetable oil as core were synthesized by in-situ polymerization, and the microencapsulated asphalt mixture was prepared and evaluated. The self-healing performance of microencapsulated asphalt mixtures were investigated by the fracture-healing-fracture test of three-point bending, and evaluated with the recovery rate of fracturestrength before and after healing(HS)with different asphalt types, different microcapsule content, different healing temperatures, different healing environments and different healing times. The effects of microcapsule content, service conditions(healing temperature, healing time, moisture and chloride erosion)and material properties(asphalt type)on the self-healing performance of microencapsulated asphalt mixture were explored. The results show that the self-healing ability of microencapsulated matrix asphalt mixture is better than that of microencapsulated SBS modified asphalt mixture. With the extension of healing time, the increase of healing temperature and the increase of microcapsule content, the healing effect of microencapsulated asphalt mixture is getting better and better. For ordinary asphalt mixture trabecular, immersion and salt solution will reduce its self-healing performance, and SBS modified asphalt mixture has higher salt resistance. However, with the increase of chloride concentration, the HS of microencapsulated matrix asphalt mixture decreases first and then increases, while that of SBS modified asphalt mixture increases all the time, which is due to the accelerated microencapsulation cracking caused by the high chloride concentration environment. The research results not only reveal the influence law of self-healing performance of microencapsulated asphalt mixture under soaking and chlorine salt environment, but also provide a theoretical basis for the application of microcapsulated in snowy and saline-alkali areas.6 tabs, 14 figs, 27 refs.
