Abstract:
Amid at that in practical applications, the partial positioning errors in edge region were greater than the average positioning errors, when the average positioning error was used to reflect the precision and accuracy of the positioning algorithm in a tunnel personnel positioning system, a tunnel personnel combined localization method based on error region division was proposed to enhance overall positioning accuracy. Firstly, the positioning error region distributions using the quadrilateral centroid localization algorithm and the maximum likelihood estimation algorithm was simulated to find out the law of positioning error region distributions and to analyze the causes of the error formation. Secondly, based on the characteristics of different error region, solutions for different areas using different localization algorithms were proposed. The error region was divided into three parts, the quadrilateral centroid localization algorithm was used for the middle part, the maximum likelihood estimation algorithm was used for the upper and lower edges, and the centroid was regarded as the estimated location of the four corners. Finally, on the basis of optimization of the tunnel environment simulation parameters, the tunnel personnel combined localization method based on error region division was simulated and analyzed. The results show that the average positioning error (when K=3 m) is decreased by 3.58% and 45.86% using the combined localization method, separately, when compare with those of the quadrilateral centroid localization and maximum likelihood estimation algorithms, and the maximum positioning error is reduced by 48.90% and 45.59%, separately. The positioning error of the four corners are evidently decreased, the upper and lower edges are significantly improved. The coordinate of the maximum positioning error also is diverted. The positioning errors on the entire area are reduced to various degrees, the problem of uniform positioning error region distribution has been solved. Consequently, the proposed tunnel personnel combined localization method based on error region division can improve the precision and accuracy on a tunnel personnel positioning system. 2 tabs, 9 figs, 26 refs.
