Abstract:
A new structure of continuously arched bottom concrete pavement (CABCP) was put forward, which features by small-span continuously arch in bottom and plane in surface. Fully exerting advantage that the compressive strength of concrete was much larger than tensile strength, the arch structure transfered the load through arch axis compressed under the vehicle load, which made much of the pavement be in the compression situation, and could reduce the magnitude and the area of tensile stress largely, so it could greatly improve the carrying capacity and durability of the pavement. ABAQUS numerical simulation of cement concrete pavement with arched bottom was established, and effects of vehicle load, parameters of slab arch and steel bar anchoring in arch foot on working condition of pavement structure were also analyzed. The results show that different from traditional pavement, after the road arch ring being adopted, the slab bears compression stress in most part of the pavement construction. The tensile region is narrowed, which is mainly concentrated in the central of the arch slab underside, and the slab tensile stress level is far lower than that of the traditional pavement. The arched bottom greatly improve the working condition of pavement. By controlling parameters like arch ring rise-span ratio, span, thickness of slab, the road load stress reduces. It is very obvious that arch ring structure can reduce the damage caused by overloading and super overloading. Appropriate arch ring rise-span ratio arched slab thickness and arch height are recommended. The reducing pavement load stress and arch foot horizontal displacement can be achieved through increasing the steel bar diameter and decreasing the bar spacing. The stress in concrete around anchored reinforcement is relatively low, generally less than 2.0 MPa.
