Abstract:
Cement concrete pavement accepts horizontal loads when the aircrafts taking off and landing. ANSYS software was adopted to create a 3-D finite element model with nine full scale slabs. Mechanical responses of the cement concrete pavement were studied under six different load positions and two different typical aircraft taking-off loads, and the influence of the horizontal force coefficients on pavement structure responses was analyzed during landing. The results show that the pavement peak stress caused by two kinds of planes changes only by 0.12 MPa and 0.05 MPa. There is a linear relationship between the pavement peak stress and horizontal load, except when the single wheel of main landing gear works on the position one. When the wheel load located at pavement center and longitudinal joints, the horizontal load has a less influence on the pavement stress, and when the wheel load located at corner and horizontal joints, the peak stress of pavement is relevant to the direction of the horizontal load. 5 tabs, 9 figs, 12 refs.
