Abstract:
The finite element model of floating-shoe and traditional brake were builded through ANSYS finite element software, and eight eccentric positions of brake drum were analyzed, and the curve of quantity of eccentric-brake torque was got.In order to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis, the braking processes of these two brakes were simulated by ADAMS dynamic simulation software, and also bench tests of vehicle were performed, the results of which were as same as the ones of finite element analysis. The results show that the brake torque of floating shoe brake drum can still remain unchanged when eccentric error is changed. The influence on automobile snaking is reduced. However, the change of traditional brake torque is large, which leades to brake pulling easily. The floating-shoe brake can reduce the brake pulling of vehicle, and its superiority is obvious. 2 tabs, 7 figs, 4 refs.
