Abstract:
Aimed at regional differences of annual variation of water content in subgrade, the humidity sensors were installed to observe water content in subgrade at typical sections of Xinjiang, then the subgrade moisture variations with time was analyzed. The subgrade water content changes and causes in different regions of Xinjiang were studied, the relationship between subgrade water content changes with time were fitted by double peak function, so the annual variation of subgrade in different areas were obtained. The results show that, in the eastern region, northern region and southern region of Xinjiang, the water content varies from 2.47% to 5.25%, from 1.38% to 4.90%, from 2.06% to 3.98% respectively. Because of small annual rainfall, high evaporation, the season of biggest subgrade water content is not the rainy season, in the eastern and northern areas, the seasons with larger subgrade water content are from March to May, from August to November, these months have a relatively small evaporation. In the southern area, the season with largest subgrade water content is only in the spring, from April to June. 3 tabs, 15 figs, 10 refs.
