Abstract:
The durability of asphalt pavement is closely related to the anti-aging properties of asphalt mixtures. In order to study the aging properties of asphalt mixtures on their low-temperature performance, the effects of aging were analyzed based on the low temperature bending test results of aged asphalt mixtures which compose of two particle grading, base asphalt and modified asphalt. The results show that: the low temperature properties of fine grading mixture are superior to the coarse grading mixture, but its bending strain decreases faster than the coarse one; the low temperature property of modified asphalt mixture is better than the one of base asphalt mixture, while the bending strain of the former decreases more slowly than the base asphalt mixture; and the influence of the long-term aging of the asphalt mixture low temperature properties are more serious than other aging types. Therefore, the aging effects must be considered during the low temperature properties evaluation of asphalt mixture. 6 tabs, 5 figs, 12 refs.
