Abstract:
The second theory of A.A.Umanskii was adopted to study torsional property of composite beam with corrugated steel webs. The torsional and distortional property of box girder under eccentric load was analyzed. The result of the theoretical method was verified by the finite element method. The results show that the warping stress caused by restrained torsion is 5.9% of that caused by bending. The shear of the corrugated steel webs caused by restrained torsion is 14.8% of that caused by bending. The warping stress caused by distortion is 29% of that caused by bending. Based on the simplesupported beam referred in this paper, the warping stress caused by distortion is 5 times of that caused by restrained torsion. The effect caused by the eccentric load which possesses larger share of the calculation should not be ignored. 3 tabs, 13 figs, 9 refs.
