Abstract:
To research the rheological properties of tetrahydrofuran soluble (THFS)extracted from direct coal liquefaction residue (DCLR), as a modified asphalt binder,asphalt binders with different tetrahydrofuran soluble (THFS) content (0%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% by weight of SK90) were prepared. First, the linear viscoelastic range was determined through strain sweep, and then, the test results of rutting factor, fatigue factor, creep rate and creep modulus were obtained within the linear viscoelastic range of the asphalt binder, using a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) and bending beam rheometer (BBR) test. Finally, the physical parameters of a CAM model were integrated and used, which is a mathematical model for describing the wide temperature and wide frequency domains master curve of different asphalt materials under dynamic shearing, to analyze the rheological properties of the asphalt binder. The results show that with an increase in the THFS content, high temperature stability and temperature susceptibility improve, however, there is a decline in the lowtemperature and fatigue performances. According to the timetemperature equivalence principle, a modulus master curve of the THFS modified asphalt was synthesized at 45 ℃,and the CAM model was used to fit it, the fitting judgment coefficient R2 is found to be above 0.999. The viscoelastic properties of the THFS modified asphalt is evaluated using physical parameters in the CAM model. It is found that the temperature sensitivity of the modified asphalt decreases with an increase in THFS content, and it can be better adapted to changes in the pavement temperature. Therefore, the optimal THFS content is recommended to be within 6%, according to its comprehensive properties. 7 tabs, 10 figs, 25 refs. 
