Abstract:
To solve the technical problems of poor compatibility of Xinjiang asphalt with SBS and crumb rubber, the difficulty of modification of SBS to Xinjiang asphalt, and to improve the level of waste utilization in Xinjiang traffic construction, SBS and crumb rubber were used to compositely modify Karamay(KLMY)and Tahe(TH)blended asphalt. The SBS/crumb rubber(SBS/CR)modified Xinjiang blended asphalt was prepared. The preparation process of SBS/CR modified Xinjiang asphalt was optimized. The blending schemes of SBS/CR modified Xinjiang asphalt suitable for hot and cold areas in Xinjiang were determined. The high temperature rheological properties, low temperature rheological properties, fatigue properties and viscosity-temperature characteristics of SBS/CR modified Xinjiang asphalt, SBS modified asphalt and crumb rubber modified asphalt were evaluated by the dynamic shear rheology(DSR)test, the multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)test, the bending beam rheology(BBR)test, the linear amplitude sweep(LAS)test and the Brookfield rotary viscosity test. The results show that the optimized SBS/CR modified Xinjiang asphalt preparation process is to shear the asphalt twice. The composite modified asphalt(SBS/CR-N)blending scheme suitable for cold areas in Xinjiang is KLMY90:TH60=2:3, addition dosage is 15% crumb rubber(mass fraction, the same below), 3% SBS, 2% PR-1 additive, 4% compatibilizer SH and 0.12% stabilizer SWD. The composite modified asphalt(SBS/CR-S)blending scheme suitable for hot areas in Xinjiang is KLMY90:TH60=2:3, 15% crumb rubber, 3.5% SBS, 2% PR-1 additive, 3% compatibilizer SH and 0.12% stabilizer SWD. The SBS/CR-S has the highest complex shear modulus, rutting factor, improved rutting factor, and the lowest phase angle at different test temperatures. The creep stiffness and creep rate of SBS/CR-S and SBS/CR-N still meet the specification requirements at -30 ℃. The damping ratio and dissipation energy ratio of SBS/CR-N are the largest at different test temperatures. The viscosity of SBS/CR-N and SBS/CR-S at 180 ℃ are 1.12 and 1.66 Pa?s, which perform good construction workability, and have no fatigue yield phenomenon in the range of 0% to 30% shear strain. When the strain level is lower than 1%, the fatigue lives of SBS/CR modified Xinjiang asphalt is higher than that of SBS modified asphalt and crumb rubber modified asphalt. The PG classification of SBS/CR-S and SBS/CR-N is PG82-40. SBS/CR modified Xinjiang asphalt performs excellent high and low temperature properties.4 tabs, 14 figs, 29 refs.
