Abstract:
In order to research the distribution of transverse bending moment in the bridge deck of a steel-concrete compositetwin I-girder(SCCTG)bridge, a 1:2 scale model of an SCCTG bridge with the steel-concrete composite deck was designed, and a single-point static loading test was carried in the mid-span of the deck. Based on the test results and finite element analysis(FEA)method, the influence of crossbeams, transverse stiffener on transverse moment distribution and effective distribution width of the composite deck was analyzed, and the applicability of design methods of specifications for design of highway reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete bridges and culverts(JTG 3362—2018)and AASHTO specifications were evaluated. The results show that the support position and stiffness of the deck are changed by the crossbeams and transverse stiffener along the longitudinal direction of the bridge. The sagging moment of the deck is maximum when there is no transverse stiffener at the loading section, and the hogging moment of the deck is maximum when there is a crossbeam at the loading section. The effective distribution width and transverse bending moment correction coefficient method adopted in the current Chinese specification is not suitable for the calculation of the transverse bending moment of the SCCTG deck. It is recommended to appropriately increase the mid-span sagging moment correction coefficient.6 tabs, 14 figs, 19 refs.
