Abstract:
For researching the frost heave properties of lime modified subgrade soil, the frost heave measuring system was made of dial indicator, free-thaw case and so on. The test-piece temperature was measured by test-piece internal temperature sensor under the same condition, and the open frost heave test was conducted. The results indicate the bigger the ratio of lime to soil, the smaller the ratio of frost heave, with the same moisture. Temperature of lime modified soil's frost heave is about -2 ℃. Frost heave almost ends at -10 ℃, and is obvious from -2 ℃ to -8 ℃. Frost heave changes in four stages with the temperature decreasing. The frost heave increases with moisture. The more the ratio of lime to soil, the more the initial moisture of frost heave. Lime can limit frost heave of soil to a certain extent. 4 tabs, 4 figs, 15 refs.
