Abstract:
In order to investigate the influence law of running speed on asphalt pavement damage performance, so as to provide basis for microscopic kinetic damage mechanism, a numerical test method was used to investigate the damage performance of asphalt pavement submitted to the actual running speed load with a 3D generation algorithm about asphalt mixture. Graded crushed stone in the asphalt mixture was modeled as the irregular particles, and asphalt's bond strength was translated into irregular particle parallel bond. The results show that the fatigue life and the actual running speed have the same developing trend; the higher the vehicle running speed, the longer the fatigue life of the asphalt pavement. With actual running speed increasing, the fatigue life increase rate decreases to zero at last. The damage stress on the asphalt layer caused by the sequence from heavy to light load is slighter than that caused by the sequence from light to heavy load. The lower the actual running speed, the higher the asphalt layer damage stress, and the bigger the swing level of damage stress. 5 tabs, 9 figs, 10 refs.
