Abstract:
The construction of test track has not ready criteria and rules in China, but it is a complex project, demanding higher construction technology and embankment settlement standard than expressway. Four typical sections of high fill embankment for Chang'an comprehensive test track were analyzed with centrifugal model test and numerical simulation to study the settlement deformation law of high fill embankment, and the settlement deformation of the sections that were replaced by limestone soil were analyzed. The results indicate that the strength and the stability of the high fill embankment are improved and the settlement deformation decreases when the high fill subgrade is replaced by limestone soil. The centrifugal model test results show a good agreement with numerical simulation results, and the settlement deformation and stability of the prototype can be reflected completely with combination of two methods.2 tabs, 6 figs, 16 refs.
