Abstract:
The pavement-splicing is a significant issue that must be resolved in expressway widening project. The pavement-splicing form plays a vital role on strain, stress distribution and stability of pavement structure. Relying on substantial projects, the pavement response for different step dimension was analyzed using finite element software ABAQUS. Then, through changing load position, the tensile stress and shear stress of asphalt layer was analyzed. Analysis result shows that: comparing with layer without lapping, the maximum tensile stress, shear stress are significantly reduced after setting lapping in pavement structure; when set overlapping, with step width increasing, the maximum tensile stress slightly increases and tensile stress distribution becomes more and more uniform; the maximum shear stress gradually decreases with step width increasings, get litter changing after step width reaching 120 cm; splicing model has three worst load position, and respectively on the left and right side of from 0 to 50 cm regional of the top seam and left side of from 0 to 50 cm regional of the second seam. 2 tabs, 7 figs, 10 refs.
