Abstract:
Based on the analysis of road traffic safety situation and tendency in Chinese rural area, this paper analyzed the factors affecting road traffic safety in rural areas from the aspects of driver, vehicle, road and environment. The result indicates that the drivers' effect include unsophisticated driving skill and weak safety sense, the vehicles' effect include the motor vehicles' different types and their poor performance, the roads' effect include imperfect infrastrures and design, the environment's effect include climate, lighting and management of rural highway. In order to solve these problems, to promote safety education, regulate vehicle safety situation, enhance the level of highway infrastructure and improve the environmental security level are important for improving rural highway safety situation. 2 tabs, 3 figs, 9 refs.
